To the editor: The speaking heads on TV are up in arms over President Trump’s pardons of the Jan. 6 felons. But, it was a foregone conclusion.

If Trump had allowed these individuals to stay locked up, it will have been a tacit admission that they have been, in truth, responsible; that their conduct was in opposition to the regulation. It was solely in opposition to the regulation if that they had no authorized foundation to behave the way in which they did.

That’s precisely 180 levels from Trump’s “Twilight Zone” body of reference. In Trump’s psyche, he received in 2020, and the election actually was stolen. Ergo, the violent mob was legally justified in what it did.

If Trump had refused to pardon those that have been lawfully convicted, it will be tantamount to an admission that former President Biden really received in 2020. In Trump’s thoughts, this passes for his judgment of right and wrong. Therefore, the pardons needed to be issued.

To debase a well-known line from Bette Davis, “Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to be a bumpy night time” — or 4 years.

To the editor: I’m very troubled by the pardoning of violent criminals, insurrectionists, police beaters and people who threatened the lives of our representatives in Congress. These criminals at the moment are “standing by” for the longer term.

I’m additionally deeply troubled by the silence or acceptance of many of the Republicans in Congress. Is that this what you voted for? He instructed you what he was going to do.

To the editor: Trump pardoned the members of his non-public militia. Full cease.

    Thomas D. Penfield, Cardiff, Calif.

To the editor: For years now, I’ve heard particularly from Republicans in regards to the rule of regulation and the necessity to have a good justice system in our nation. The discharge of those people is a mockery of the rule of regulation and our justice system.

These persons are not heroes of democracy. They desecrated our Capitol. They chanted their need to hold the sitting vp of the USA. They hunted for members of Congress. They disparaged and injured law enforcement officials.

With these pardons, Trump has sullied the rule of regulation and our justice system. It is a stab wound to the center of our democracy.

    Stevi Carroll, Pasadena

    ..

To the editor: I do know there may be not a lot l can do as one particular person however to precise my opposition and vote my emotions subsequent time. So l will begin now.

I’m disgusted that the brand new president has pardoned the Jan. 6 criminals.

I’m within the twilight of my life, however l should make myself heard. We the general public can not sit again and settle for such that goes in opposition to the grain of our constitutional democracy and the rule of regulation.
