    TikTok said late Friday that its service would “go darkish” for its 170 million American customers on Sunday within the face of a federal ban over fears that its Chinese language possession poses a menace to the US’ nationwide safety.

    The corporate stated in an announcement posted to its web site and on X that “sadly TikTok can be compelled to go darkish on January 19” until the Biden administration assures Apple, Google and different corporations that they won’t be punished for delivering TikTok’s companies in the US.
