9 individuals have been killed and dozens are harm as a hearth tore by an assisted-living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts, officers stated.
Not less than 30 individuals, together with 5 firefighters, have been transported to native hospitals after the Sunday evening blaze on the Gabriel Home assisted-living facility, Fall River Hearth Chief Jeffrey Bacon stated.

“The fireplace went to 5 alarms, drawing about 50 firefighters to the scene, together with about 30 who have been off-duty,” officers stated in an announcement.
The injured have been in “varied situations,” officers stated. The 5 firefighters have been transported to hospitals with accidents that weren’t life-threatening.
“My coronary heart goes out to those that are waking as much as probably the most horrific information possible about their family members this morning,” Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey stated in an announcement on Monday. “I am grateful to the firefighters and first responders whose heroic efforts saved lives. We’re all praying for many who misplaced family members and for the complete restoration of those that have been injured.”
“A full investigation is already underway,” she continued. “I do know the individuals of Fall River are sturdy and resilience, and now’s the time for us to all come collectively to assist each other by this horrible tragedy.”
