To the editor: The place to start with the Environmental Safety Company’s cuts to the rooftop photo voltaic grant program (“EPA eliminates $7-billion rooftop solar grant program,” Aug. 7)? Let’s begin right here: “Trump — who acquired document donations from fossil gas corporations … is making quite a few efforts to sluggish the transition to scrub power whereas encouraging the usage of fossil fuels.” Fossil fuels are the compacted stays of crops and animals from a whole bunch of tens of millions of years in the past which have undergone transformation from warmth, strain, chemical reactions and time. Industrial societies have been burning them quickly over the previous two centuries, rising the carbon in Earth’s ambiance with devastating results throughout the nation and across the globe. Burning oil, coal and fuel is a dying business, and new applied sciences presently exist to transition us towards a cleaner power future.
The place to finish? I assume by destroying a program designed to assist decrease our carbon output, help lower-income households and create tens of hundreds of jobs. I ponder why I don’t really feel nice about this plan.
