To the editor: It’s disturbing to see that the L.A. Occasions protection of the Justice Division’s allegations of antisemitism on the College of California notes solely within the final paragraph that there have been accusations of “anti-Muslim, anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian bias at UCLA and different UC campuses since 2023” (“Justice Department launches investigation into allegations of antisemitism at UC,” March 5).

The truth is, UCLA established a process pressure on anti-Palestinian, anti-Muslim and anti-Arab racism in 2023 similtaneously it established the duty pressure on anti-Israel bias. The duty pressure on anti-Palestinian, anti-Muslim and anti-Arab racism, which we co-chair, has produced at least three substantive reviews documenting severe situations of racism, in addition to proof of surveillance and policing of scholars and college participating of their constitutionally protected proper to free speech and protest — penalizing the advocacy of Palestinian rights and speech on Palestine.

Repression is organized and bolstered by college and nonuniversity actors who can harness right-wing media to advertise their agendas to the broader public, the Board of Regents and in the end the U.S. Congress. The facility that such people possess is formidable.

Very key to this energy is institutional approval and help for these actions. Your article colludes with the suppression of speech and the bounds on tutorial freedom when it fails to debate the documented acts of discrimination in opposition to Palestinians, Muslims, Arabs and anybody expressing help for Palestinian human rights at UCLA.

To the editor: As a Jewish Angeleno, I’m appalled at efforts to distract People from our authorities’s enthusiastic help for the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians by claiming anybody who opposes it’s antisemitic. Let’s oppose all types of bigotry, together with Islamophobia. Cease utilizing my folks’s historic sufferings to offer a smokescreen for Israel’s mass homicide, and cease funding it.
