    WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump mentioned on Thursday (Jul 10) the USA would impose a 35 per cent tariff on imports from Canada subsequent month and deliberate to impose blanket tariffs of 15 per cent or 20 per cent on most different commerce companions.

    In a letter launched on his social media platform, Trump instructed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney the brand new charge would go into impact on Aug 1 and would go up if Canada retaliated.

    Trump has broadened his commerce warfare in current days, setting new tariffs on a number of countries, together with allies Japan and South Korea, together with a 50 per cent tariff on copper.

    In an interview with NBC Information printed on Thursday, Trump mentioned different buying and selling companions that had not but obtained such letters would seemingly face blanket tariffs.

    “Not everyone has to get a letter. You recognize that. We’re simply setting our tariffs,” Trump mentioned within the interview.

    “We’re simply going to say the entire remaining nations are going to pay, whether or not it’s 20 per cent or 15 per cent. We’ll work that out now,” Trump was quoted as saying by the community.
