MOSCOW: Russian nuclear-capable bombers carried out a “scheduled” flight over the Norwegian and Barents Seas, prompting “fighter jets of overseas international locations” to escort them, Russia’s Defence Ministry mentioned on Thursday (Dec 25), in line with Russian information businesses.
Neither the date of the Tu-95 flights nor the international locations that deployed monitoring plane have been specified.
“Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers and missile carriers carried out a scheduled flight over the impartial waters of the Barents and Norwegian Seas,” the ministry mentioned, referring to our bodies of water north of Scandinavia and northwest of Russia.
“At sure levels of the route, long-range bombers have been escorted by fighter jets of overseas international locations,” it added.
