To the editor: I’m 82 years outdated and have all the time thought elected officers served their constituents pursuits’ first and the whole United States in the end. (“Fate of Trump’s Cabinet picks unclear as Republicans prepare to take power in Senate,” Dec. 25)

The strain and threats being utilized by the president-elect to get his controversial nominees via Senate affirmation are heinous. If our elected officers in Congress wilt below these pressures now, the place are we going to be one month from now? One yr from now?

The dystopian future is being touted as the perfect way of life. I’m glad I’m 82.

To the editor: The “truthful and balanced” Related Press article you printed on President-elect Donald Trump’s Cupboard picks accommodates the next astonishing assertion: “Hegseth, a Fox Information host and veteran whom some see as inexperienced….”

If Pete Hegseth met with senators carrying no sneakers and socks, would you report that some noticed the Protection secretary nominee as barefoot?

Many people, myself included, concern the approaching dying of unbiased journalism as a serious part of our nation’s descent into autocracy. Our media present frequent and distinct proof of a sluggish capitulation by a lot of our information organizations.

I don’t assume it’s quixotic to counsel that resistance is preferable to give up. I ask you to be extra brave than I’m and to double down on reporting information as distinct from “some see.”

    Hegseth is inexperienced.
