Officers in hard-hit Kerr County, Texas, which was ravaged by flooding earlier this month, say the variety of folks believed to be lacking has dropped from almost 100 to a few.
In a press release Saturday, county officers cited “in depth follow-up work amongst state and native businesses” that decided that many individuals initially reported as lacking had been verified to be alive and secure.

Earlier this week, Texas officers stated 97 folks within the county had been nonetheless unaccounted for after the lethal July 4 floods. At its top, the variety of folks listed as lacking was greater than 160.
“We’re profoundly grateful to the greater than 1,000 native, state, and federal authorities who’ve labored tirelessly within the wake of the devastating flood that struck our neighborhood,” Kerrville Metropolis Supervisor Dalton Rice stated. “Because of their extraordinary efforts, the variety of people beforehand listed as lacking has dropped from over 160 to a few.”
General, the dying toll from the July 4 flooding throughout the state of Texas stood at greater than 130 as of earlier this week.
Of these, 107 had been in Kerr County — together with 70 adults and 37 youngsters.
