    New Orleans DA pulls out of jailbreak probe amid conflict of interest allegation

    NEW ORLEANS — Going through allegations of a battle of curiosity, Orleans Parish District Lawyer Jason Williams eliminated himself this week from a Louisiana Lawyer Common-led investigation into the huge jailbreak that noticed 10 men escape a New Orleans jail earlier this month.

    Gov. Jeff Landry ordered an investigation into the jailbreak a number of days after the inmates escaped on Might 16. Williams had initially described the inquiry as a “joint effort” with the Lawyer Common Liz Murrill and toured the jail along with her as a part of the probe.
