    NEWARK, N.J. — One Newark, New Jersey, police officer was killed and one other was wounded in a capturing Friday night, authorities stated.

    The Essex County Prosecutor’s Workplace confirmed in an e-mail to The Related Press that two Newark law enforcement officials had been shot round 6:37 p.m. within the space of Broadway and Carteret.

    The officers had been taken to College Hospital in Newark and one was critically injured, the workplace stated, noting the capturing stays beneath investigation.

    They officers had been shot within the line of obligation, Robert W. Fox, the president of the Fraternal Order of Police-New Jersey State Lodge, stated in an announcement posted on Fb.

    “One Officer has made the final word sacrifice, and the opposite is receiving therapy for his or her wounds on the time of this launch,” the assertion stated.
