    More than 850 flights canceled in US early Wednesday, tracker says

    A minimum of 878 flights had been canceled in the US early on Wednesday, with the departures from the busy hubs of Chicago, Denver and Atlanta main the listing of probably the most cancellations, in accordance with a flight-data tracker. 

    One other 404 flights had been delayed as of about 5 a.m. ET, in accordance with FlightAware.

    Chicago O’Hare Worldwide topped the tracker’s listing of cancellations, with 44 as of about 4 a.m. native time. Subsequent was Denver with 43 and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson with 37. 

    Wednesday’s flight cancellations appeared set to proceed a dayslong streak of chaos at American airports, which had been working below duress amid a federal authorities shutdown.

    The Federal Aviation Administration continues to restrict capability at 40 main U.S. airports. Many federal workers, together with Transportation Safety Administration staffers, had been working without pay because the partisan deadlock dragged on in Washington.
