    Mom arrested after leaving newborn at Manhattan subway station: Police

    The mom of a new child child discovered deserted at a Midtown Manhattan subway station has been arrested, police stated.

    Assa Diawara, 30, was arrested early Wednesday in Queens on expenses of abandonment of a kid and endangering the welfare of a kid, in response to the New York Police Division.

    The NYPD is searching for this one who they are saying left a child a subway station in Midtown Manhattan, Oct. 20, 2025.

    The newborn woman was discovered wrapped in a blanket on the southbound 1 practice platform at thirty fourth Avenue-Penn Station through the Monday morning rush hour, police stated.

    The newborn was taken to the hospital in steady situation, police stated, with New York Metropolis Transit President Demetrius Crichlow calling it “the miracle on thirty fourth Avenue.”
