The famend head coach simply left the Ole Miss Rebels to tackle the LSU Tigers‘ job, and whereas he drew loads of criticism for the way in which he dealt with the state of affairs, it feels like there’s extra to it.
Kiffin launched a statement criticizing the choice to not let him end the season and coach Ole Miss within the playoffs. An preliminary report mentioned he let assistant coaches know that they need to both comply with him to Baton Rouge on Sunday or they would not get a job there on the finish of the season. Kiffin disputed that, however now, one other report has emerged on the state of affairs.
Lane Kiffin’s assistants reportedly have till Monday to decide
In keeping with a report by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Kiffin did, certainly, give his coaches an ultimatum. Nonetheless, the deadline to decide is Monday.
“The truth is that they’ve extra time. However not a lot,” Florio wrote. “Phrase is that they’ve till tonight to resolve on whether or not to go. At that time, the vacant positions shall be crammed from the surface.”
The Rebels promoted defensive coordinator Pete Golding to be their new head coach. That provides whoever decides to remain some type of sense of continuity and a small assure to maintain their jobs if they do not select to go away and be a part of a fellow SEC foe.
Even so, given the way in which issues have gone down between Kiffin and his now-former employer, we would not be even near the tip of this story.
