    To the editor: Los Angeles County has appointed a allow czar to interrupt the logjam stopping permits from being issued for the Eaton hearth rebuilding (“Permits issued in Altadena since the fire: zero. L.A. County wants to speed it up,” April 8). This extraordinary step was made obligatory due to the necessities of the numerous county departments concerned in allowing a residence and the conflicts between these departments and the codes.

    Having successfully admitted that the allowing course of is damaged, and little question contributing to the countywide housing disaster, isn’t it previous time for a similar resolution to be instituted for the complete county? Isn’t it time for a full-time county allowing czar to rationalize and streamline the allowing course of?
