    To the editor: We now have seen President Trump cut off food and medical aid to poor nations, particularly in Africa, which can possible lead to tens of 1000’s, if not millions, of deaths. Now we’re seeing his cruelty right here within the U.S.

    By slicing off federal meals help (or SNAP), he’s utilizing starvation as a weapon in a partisan energy play (“Trump administration posts notice that no federal food aid will go out Nov. 1,” Oct. 26). Because the fundamental political disagreement accountable for the federal government shutdown is whether or not healthcare insurance coverage subsidies can be ended, what Trump is telling tens of millions of poor and working-class People is that if they need meals, they have to quit healthcare. In the meantime, he’s constructing himself a gilded ballroom to wine and dine his rich visitors.
