To the editor: Athletes do greater than dribble, do greater than hit or deal with (“Should the Dodgers balk at a White House invitation this year?” March 13). They’re residents who’ve views about their neighborhood, their state and our nation. Sure, we’ve politicized nearly every little thing prior to now few years since Trump and his bullying, anti-immigrant, name-calling techniques grew to become the norm, all whereas his followers look the opposite means.
I hope Mookie Betts, Clayton Kershaw, Shohei Ohtani and each different 2024 World Sequence champion Dodger thinks twice about having his image taken with President Trump. They need to as an alternative suppose twice about saying it’s OK to fulfill up with somebody who doesn’t respect or care about so a lot of them — or these of us who respect the Structure, don’t suppose most immigrants are rapists and criminals and care about serving to the disabled and the poor.

To the editor: Isn’t this a no brainer? Comply with the lead of Betts and different athletes of character by refusing to offer Trump the picture op that will fulfill his weak ego. Ship the message that his assaults on California, the American folks and our allies overseas are merciless, silly and vengeful.

To the editor: I’ve at all times disagreed with boycotting the celebratory social gathering with President Trump. These athletes have an opportunity to fulfill with the president of the USA. That doesn’t occur to everybody. Go to the social gathering. Be respectful and later pull the president apart and say, “We come from totally different backgrounds. Right here’s our difficulty, we want your assist. Can we get you on board?” Meet the president and see what occurs.

To the editor: Ought to the Dodgers chorus from accepting an invite to spend time with a convicted felon who has individually been discovered liable of sexual abuse by a jury? The query solutions itself. As Johann Wolfgang Goethe as soon as mentioned, “Inform me with whom you affiliate and I’ll let you know who you might be.”
