To the editor: I used to be to learn in regards to the good-looking return on funding that neighborhood faculties present their college students (“These L.A.-area community colleges are the best return on investment, study shows,” Sept. 16). Within the early Eighties, after serving within the Peace Corps, I returned residence and determined to review for an engineering diploma. A really sensible advisor (my youthful sister) instructed me to take my decrease division courses at a neighborhood school. So, I attended Los Angeles Metropolis Faculty and had a slew of good, devoted lecturers for physics, chemistry and arithmetic.

I went on to California State College Northridge to complete my diploma after which loved an extended, satisfying profession on the Los Angeles Division of Water and Energy. I can’t advocate neighborhood faculties strongly sufficient.
