    Justice Department sues Fulton County for 2020 election records

    The Division of Justice on Friday filed a lawsuit towards Fulton County, Georgia, in an try to receive data from the 2020 election, in what seems to be the newest transfer from the Trump administration to research the election the president misplaced.

    The Justice Division is searching for paperwork together with poll stubs and signature envelopes from the 2020 common election, the lawsuit from the DOJ’s civil division states.

    In keeping with the lawsuit, Lawyer Basic Pam Bondi is investigating Fulton County’s “compliance with federal election regulation.”

    Justice Division officers despatched a letter to the Fulton County clerk in November searching for the data, which went unanswered, the go well with claims.

    President Donald Trump has continued to falsely declare he gained the 2020 election, together with the state of Georgia, which he misplaced to Joe Biden. Trump and 18 others were indicted in Fulton County over alleged efforts to overturn the election outcomes.

    Trump pleaded not responsible and the costs towards all defendants have been dismissed last month.

    The Fulton County clerk didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark from ABC Information.
