To the editor: Yay! Extra Dealer Joe’s shops in Southern California! Extra choices for inexpensive meals! (“Trader Joe’s to open three new L.A. stores in 2025,” Dec. 31)

However nonetheless, after 58 years, there are not any areas the place the demographics are a little bit extra, nicely, numerous? Nothing in areas which can be identified to be meals deserts? The place markets are desperately wanted? The place fundamental diet is a problem?

The article quotes firm advertising and marketing executives on the Inside Dealer Joe’s podcast concerning standards for brand new shops — inhabitants density, parking and accessibility — with out taking a vital eye on the map.

The one retailer in South L.A. is subsequent to USC. There’s nothing in East L.A. Don’t the remainder of us deserve entry to Dealer Joe’s Mandarin Orange Rooster or the notorious Darkish Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups?

And whereas new Dealer Joe’s areas are information, I miss the L.A. Instances that may report the entire story and never simply publish an article that reads like an organization press launch.
