    Former Houston official criticized for calling flooded Texas camp ‘Whites-only’

    Sade Perkins, a former member of the Houston Meals Insecurity Board, made the unverified claims about Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, in a TikTok video this weekend.

    The workplace of Houston Mayor John Whitmire confirmed to Fox Information Digital that Perkins posted the video. She was appointed by former Mayor Sylvester Turner in 2023, and her time period expired in January 2025.

    In her video, Perkins started by predicting that she was “most likely gonna get canceled for this.”

    “However Camp Mystic is a Whites-only women Christian camp,” Perkins continued. “They do not actually have a token Asian, they do not have a Token Black individual, it’s a all White, White-only conservative Christian camp.”

    “When you ain’t White, you ain’t proper,” she claimed. “You ain’t getting in, you ain’t going, interval.”

    Perkins added, “It is to not say that we do not need the ladies to be discovered, no matter women which might be lacking… however you finest consider, particularly in at the moment’s political local weather, if this had been a bunch of Hispanic women….this could not be getting one of these protection that they are getting.     Chatting with Fox Information, Whitmire’s workplace mentioned that Perkins wouldn’t be reappointed to the board, and known as her feedback “deeply inappropriate.”
