    Former chancellor George Osborne is becoming a member of synthetic intelligence (AI) big OpenAI.

    He’ll lead its “OpenAI for International locations” programme, which is aimed toward serving to governments improve their AI capability.

    Osborne, who co-hosts a podcast and can be chair of the British Museum, mentioned he joined the agency after conversations with OpenAI’s chief government Sam Altman and chief working officer Brad Lightcap.

    He mentioned the pair are “exceptionally spectacular leaders and that they care very deeply about their mission to make sure the ability of synthetic intelligence is developed responsibly, and the advantages are felt by all”.

    Osborne added: “That is precisely what the OpenAI for International locations initiative intends to attain, serving to societies all over the world share the chance this highly effective expertise brings.”

    Osborne mentioned he was leaving his present position at funding financial institution Evercore, which was a “big wrench”.
