    FAA delays flights for third day as government shutdown continues

    BALTIMORE: The Federal Aviation Administration delayed flights for a 3rd straight day on Wednesday (Oct 8) at airports together with Reagan Washington Nationwide and Newark Liberty Worldwide Airport because the company continued to face higher-than-normal staffing shortages.

    There have been practically 3,000 flight delays by 5.30pm (Thursday, 5.30am, Singapore time) after 10,000 delays in complete on Monday and Tuesday with hundreds tied to the FAA slowing flights due to air site visitors controller absences at amenities throughout the nation as the federal government shutdown reached its eighth day.
