To the editor: Employees author Kevin Rector’s article about voter belief describes what the dearth of belief is and why it’s so essential to our upcoming elections (“Voter trust in U.S. elections drops amid Trump critiques, redistricting, fear of ICE,” Feb. 16).
Republicans mistrust mail ballots and non-citizens voting. Democrats fear about eligible voters not voting resulting from concern or intimidation. This angst is unhealthy for our elections.
President Trump has tainted many minds over time by intimidating Democrats and calling them “cheaters.” He criticizes the Democrats each probability he will get. He is aware of that his supporters imagine his lies and rhetoric, thereby boosting his profitable possibilities.
Let’s do not forget that Trump is not working for any workplace within the midterms. Nonetheless, he is aware of that if his “folks” don’t get elected, his energy goes downward. That’s his biggest concern.
The Democrats lack a plan to counter Trump’s shenanigans. They need to begin a media marketing campaign, proper now, to guard our truthful elections. We can not permit ICE or some other regulation enforcement to watch voting stations, which is a federal crime. The Democrats should take this to the courts instantly to be heard. We have to be preemptive now. We will’t simply sit by and let ICE and Trump get their means.
I suggest that Democrats instantly make a plan to blast our cities, counties and states with a mass marketing campaign, telling the reality about voting and the way secure it truly is. The way forward for our democracy will depend on it.

To the editor: The article did not state that it was Trump’s pressuring of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott right into a mid-decade redistricting that modified the Texas map to doubtlessly achieve 5 Republican seats. California’s subsequent redistricting was a response performed with the folks’s consent (Proposition 50), moderately than by government fiat.
The prospect of brutal, out-of-control ICE brokers at polling locations is a direct menace to Latino Americans. In latest testimony, appearing ICE chief Todd Lyons deflected by refusing to definitively rule out their presence. He said there’s “no reason” to deploy, whereas concurrently saying that ICE “investigates voter fraud” — a transparent intimidation tactic.
The best response to those multifaceted makes an attempt to suppress the Democratic vote is to make sure each eligible voter makes use of early mail-in ballots or safe drop bins.

To the editor: In accordance with the ballot the Los Angeles Occasions cites, fewer voters belief within the equity of U.S. elections. Why not name within the U.N to watch our elections? Heck, the U.S. has paid sufficient to the U.N. over time. Don’t we deserve the advantage of the U.N.’s oversight?
