Deion Sanders is making an attempt to spark the struggling Colorado Buffaloes by shuffling his teaching employees and demoting a former NFL head coach.
Sanders stripped offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur of play-calling duties and demoted him to quarterbacks coach after an Oct. 25 loss to Utah, according to Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today. Tight ends coach and passing sport coordinator Brett Bartolone has taken over Shurmur’s duties.
Colorado is coming off two straight blowout losses
Sanders had promised modifications after his crew’s 53-7 loss to Utah, although he refused to announce any of them publicly. Shurmur seems to have taken the autumn for that efficiency, although it didn’t do the Buffaloes a lot good, as Colorado fell 52-17 to Arizona final Saturday.
Along with altering his teaching employees, Sanders has gone backwards and forwards on his quarterbacks to attempt to spark his offense. It didn’t work, as each Julian Lewis and Kaidon Salter noticed time within the loss to Arizona, with neither notably efficient.
Colorado initially employed Shurmur as an analyst in 2023. A couple of months later, he was promoted to offensive coordinator in a employees shakeup that’s similar to the one he’s falling sufferer to now.
Shurmur has had stints as head coach of the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, going 19-46 total. Given his demotion, it seems extremely unlikely he will likely be again with the Buffaloes subsequent season.
Colorado sits at simply 3-6 on the season and 1-5 total in Huge 12 play.
