To the editor: I used to be recognized with cervical most cancers 4 years in the past — and I can thank the human papillomavirus, or HPV, for it. (“Trust survivors: You do not want an HPV-caused cancer. Get vaccinated,” letters, Dec. 31)

I had a whole hysterectomy adopted by a spherical of chemotherapy and radiation. Fortunately, the surgical procedure and therapy have been profitable.

Seems that the tenacious and pernicious virus continues to be in my system — so I get to be looking out for different scourges, together with anal most cancers.

I encourage anybody eligible for vaccination in opposition to HPV to get it.
