To the editor: A Instances letter writer condemns each former President Biden and President Trump because the “worst presidents in historical past.” It is a false equivalency.

I’m not an excellent fan of Biden’s. Nonetheless, to assert his shortcomings are akin to the felony acts of Trump is excessive.

Given the vengeful rhetoric of Trump, I can’t fault Biden for issuing pardons to guard relations and others. That Biden issued these pardons is hardly akin to Trump’s egregious violations of legislation which have rendered him a convicted felon.

Within the first week of his presidency, Trump has made no effort to hide his retributive agenda. He has fired Division of Justice prosecutors concerned within the circumstances for which he has escaped accountability and has, by way of government orders, harmed a spread of essential social and financial applications.

In distinction, Biden has by no means indulged in a vindictive persecution of political opponents. Flawed however well-intentioned, Biden is liable for constructive financial applications such because the Inflation Discount Act and the Infrastructure Funding and Jobs Act.

However Biden, hiding behind rehearsed rhetoric on the contrary, shares Trump’s assist for Israel’s genocidal siege of Gaza, a profound ethical blemish on each their presidential legacies.
