    SYDNEY: An Australian boy was in important situation after being bitten by a shark in Sydney, authorities mentioned on Monday (Jan 19), after heavy rain created very best situations for sharks to enter the town’s harbour.

    The boy, believed to be 12 or 13, had been leaping off a 6m rock with associates late on Sunday afternoon at a seaside in Vaucluse, round 9km from the CBD and within the harbour, when he was attacked by the shark.

    Latest heavy rain had drained into the harbour, turning the water murky, police mentioned.

    He was pulled from the water by associates and emergency providers with extreme accidents to each legs and stays in a important situation.

    “He is in for the struggle of his life now, and the actions of emergency providers yesterday gave him that likelihood,” New South Wales Police Superintendent Joseph McNulty advised reporters on Monday.

    The assault follows days of heavy rain that stuffed the harbour with recent water, creating very best situations for the bull shark suspected to be behind the assault – a species that thrives in brackish water.

    “We consider the mixture of the brackish water, the recent water, the actions of the splashing might have made that excellent storm setting for that shark assault yesterday,” McNulty mentioned.

    He praised the boy’s “gallant” younger associates for going to his assist earlier than police arrived.

    Officers pulled the unconscious little one onto a police boat and gave him first assist, making use of two tourniquets to stem the bleeding from the boy’s legs, he mentioned.

    They tried to resuscitate the boy as they sped throughout the harbour to a wharf the place ambulance paramedics had been ready.
