Carla leads a battle in flood-damaged Valencia the place local weather change and tourism threaten turtles alongside Spain’s shoreline.

Carla grew up witnessing her father’s battle to guard Valencia’s fragile seaside ecosystems. Now, as local weather change warms the Mediterranean, sea turtles – pushed by rising sea temperatures – have begun arriving to put their eggs on her metropolis’s shoreline. However the seashores they depend on are below menace. Mass tourism, unchecked improvement, and the current floods are eroding these very important habitats.

At 27, Carla is an environmental lawyer and conservationist who works together with her father to revive the seashores and shield turtle nests, understanding the species’ survival is determined by their efforts. After the catastrophic 2024 floods, Carla rallies her neighborhood to behave quick to revive Valencia’s shoreline. With turtle nesting coinciding with peak tourism, Carla urgently wants volunteers to guard every nest – and time is operating out.

After the Floods is a documentary movie by Adriana Cardoso and Rodrigo Hernandez.
