An aeronautical firm within the US has launched footage displaying an idea model of its flying automobile performing a vertical take-off earlier than flying over an SUV.

Jim Dukhovny, the CEO of Alef Aeronautics, informed the BBC’s senior expertise reporter Chris Vallance, that he had hundreds of pre-orders and hoped to start out manufacturing inside 12 months.

For round $300,000 (£237,000) the corporate says patrons will get an electrical flying automobile with a predicted airborne vary of 110km (68 miles). However taking a pal for a spin might show tough – the cockpit solely has sufficient room for one and a half folks.

As Vallance factors out, Alef Aeronautics should not the one ones attempting to make flying vehicles take off with patrons, and there are big technological and regulatory hurdles to beat.
