    Rapper Rob Base, known for ‘It Takes Two,’ dies at 59 after private battle with cancer

    Rob Base, the rapper identified for his hit 1988 music “It Takes Two” with DJ E-Z Rock, has died after a personal battle with most cancers. He was 59.

    The assertion ended with, “Thanks for the music, the reminiscences, and the moments that grew to become the soundtrack to our lives.”

    Base, whose actual title is Robert Ginyard, rose to fame within the late Eighties when he and DJ E-Z Rock launched “It Takes Two.” The music, which sampled Lyn Collins’ “Suppose (About It),” had an infectious beat and have become one of the crucial iconic hip-hop get together anthems ever.

    Following “It Takes Two,” the duo parted methods earlier than reuniting in 1994 for his or her second and final studio album, “Break of Daybreak.”

    DJ E-Z Rock died on April 27, 2014, from problems associated to diabetes. On the time, Base spoke to Rolling Stone and mentioned that they first met in grade college in Harlem.
