To the editor: This text highlights Central Altadena Little League’s comeback season following the devastation of the 2025 Eaton wildfire (“After the L.A. fires, Altadena’s Little League almost folded. Then, they had the season of a lifetime,” Could 13). It’s an admirable story, and my coronary heart goes out to all the youngsters and households who misplaced their houses and all the pieces they owned, together with all that baseball gear.

However it will have been good for the Los Angeles Occasions to acknowledge that Altadena is dwelling to 2 Little Leagues. Whereas not almost as devastated, the East Altadena Little League’s youngsters and households have been removed from immune from the wildfire’s path. Many misplaced their houses or have been displaced for months, counting on one another, or the assistance of company donors, for baseball gear and help throughout that spring season.

For our children, baseball was a reprieve from the devastation of their houses or, in some instances, their faculties — all of which have been in Altadena.

    Amanda Williamson, Altadena
