To the editor: I learn the article a few hiker dying on the Mt. Wilson path with nice unhappiness (“Mt. Wilson trail hiker dies following steep ravine fall,” Might 3). That might have been me.
Virtually 10 years in the past, I slipped off that slender, rocky path and fell 200 toes. Miraculously, I survived. I’m eternally grateful to my fellow hikers, Sierra Madre Search and Rescue and the county medevac helicopter groups.
Not everybody reads AllTrails earlier than they got down to know the way harmful this path is. There must be massive and clear signage at first of the path, noting the hazards and recommending that solely very skilled hikers proceed.
