To the editor: With all due respect to the academics of Little Lake, for the Los Angeles Instances to name their strike of 10 days “one of many longest instructor strikes in state historical past” with out mentioning the five-week United Academics Los Angeles strike in the spring of 1970 is to do a disservice to everybody concerned again then (“How the Little Lake teachers strike offers a window into stressed California school districts,” April 29). There are many academics, college students and oldsters nonetheless round who recall these turbulent days — academics then and no longer afraid to face up for higher circumstances in our faculties.
