    WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump on Thursday (Apr 23) stated he had ordered the US Navy “to shoot and kill any boat” that’s laying mines within the Strait of Hormuz, and that US minesweepers have been working “at a tripled-up stage” to clear any mines from the waters.

    “I’ve ordered the US Navy to shoot and kill any boat, small boats although they might be … that’s placing mines within the waters of the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump posted, including that every one of Iran’s naval ships have been on the backside of the ocean. 

    “There may be to be no hesitation. Moreover, our mine ‘sweepers’ are clearing the Strait proper now.”

    Trump’s publish on social media got here shortly after the US army seized one other tanker related to the smuggling of Iranian oil, ratcheting up a standoff with Tehran over the strait via which 20 per cent of all crude oil and pure fuel traded passes.

    The transfer comes a day after Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guards attacked three cargo ships within the strait, capturing two of them.

    Trump additionally stated, with out offering any proof, that the US had “complete management” over the strait.

    “No ship can enter or go away with out the approval of the US Navy. It’s ‘Sealed up Tight,’ till such time as Iran is ready to make a DEAL!!!,” he wrote.
