To the editor: Apparently, the town of Los Angeles nonetheless lacks an ironclad settlement with enforceable protections stopping the town from being chargeable for probably a whole lot of thousands and thousands of {dollars} if the L.A. 2028 Olympics don’t break even (“L.A. officials raise alarms over crippling Olympic costs: ‘Bankruptcy cannot be the legacy,’” April 9).

Why will we proceed to elect inept municipal leaders who lack the spine and expertise wanted to forestall us from being liable for the shortfall? We don’t need a boondoggle spectacle that leaves our metropolis bankrupt.

It’s time for hardball techniques and an ultimatum for Casey Wasserman and LA28 (and together with the federal authorities): Los Angeles is not going to present adjunct assist providers like policing, transportation and trash pickup until we’re assured full reimbursement for providers rendered.

Get this deal finished instantly or formally withdraw our assist for the Video games.

    David Griffin, Westwood

    ..

To the editor: As I learn the superb studies about LA28’s extraordinary ticket costs, I instantly questioned if this can be a determined effort to make up for the finances deficit. The newest story on the topic basically explains that.

As a former newspaper reporter who coated the ’84 Video games and whose mom was a French-speaking volunteer for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, I really feel for individuals who will miss the expertise as a result of they can’t afford it.
