President Donald Trump on Sunday night time lashed out towards Pope Leo XIV on social media, calling the first-ever American pontiff “weak” over his requires the U.S. struggle in Iran to finish.

“Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and horrible for Overseas Coverage,” Trump wrote on social media. The president added, “I don’t desire a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon.”

In latest weeks, the Pope has criticized the struggle in Iran and referred to as for peace within the Center East.

Earlier this month, the Pope requested “all folks of goodwill to look at all times for peace and never violence, to reject struggle, particularly a struggle which many individuals have mentioned is an unjust struggle, which is constant to escalate and which isn’t resolving something.”

And on Saturday, the Pope referred to the U.S. navy offensive in Iran as a “delusion of omnipotence,” imploring the nation leaders to return to a peace settlement.
