To the editor: I need to thank the Los Angeles Instances for publishing the article that particulars how the well being of residents who dwell close to the Salton Sea is being harmed by the poisonous mud that’s being thrown up into the air because the lake dries (“For water and mining policy near Salton Sea, keep in mind local children’s health,” April 3). Recent studies have particularly proven that poisonous mud from the receding Salton Sea shoreline is considerably growing situations of bronchial asthma and different respiratory diseases.

The Salton Sea is being forgotten within the Colorado River water negotiations. It must be factored in as a result of it’s creating an environmental catastrophe that’s negatively impacting the air high quality within the Imperial and Coachella valleys and the well being of their residents.

I want to see a Salton Sea public workshop particularly addressing the standing of the Colorado River negotiations, Lithium Valley, well being and financial impacts within the Imperial and Coachella valleys, and the Sea of Cortez importation revival.
