To the editor: I’ve skilled this sort of customer support for a number of months from the company proprietor of a sequence of grocery shops right here in L.A. (“It’s not just you. Being a consumer really has become hellacious,” April 8)
For years, I’ve bought a sure type of apple in my native retailer. Instantly, the shop moved them to a place that I can barely attain (I’m slightly below 5 ft). I spoke to the supervisor and was instructed that the corporate dictates the format of merchandise. I wrote to the company workplace and was instructed that it could be taken care of. It wasn’t.
The consequence after some back-and-forth correspondence is that nothing has been finished. I wrestle to succeed in the apples — a stretch for my again and arm. I used to be instructed {that a} clerk might attain for me, however I occur to be specific concerning the fruit and need it unbruised and unblemished. I can not discover this specific apple in some other close by retailer.
There are plenty of brief individuals buying on this retailer. I’m not distinctive. This is only one instance of company indifference to its prospects.
