ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Wednesday (Apr 8) that the US, Iran and their allies had agreed to a ceasefire “everywhere”, together with Lebanon, following mediation by his authorities to cease weeks of preventing.

“I’m happy to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the US of America, together with their allies, have agreed to a right away ceasefire in every single place together with Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY,” Sharif posted on X.

He added that Pakistan’s capital Islamabad would welcome delegations from each nations on Friday to carry negotiations aimed toward reaching a “conclusive settlement”.

“We earnestly hope, that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ achieve attaining sustainable peace and want to share extra excellent news in coming days,” he stated.

Each Tehran and Washington introduced they’d agreed to a two-week ceasefire barely an hour earlier than US President Donald Trump’s deadline to “obliterate” Iran was set to run out.

Pakistan, which has cast an in depth relationship with Trump and is delicate to developments in neighbouring Iran, emerged as a channel for messaging between Tehran and Washington in latest weeks.
