The controller who made the decision for Air Canada flight 8646 to land had been looking for a gate for a United Airways flight that complained of a nasty odor, in response to a recording out there on liveatc.internet.
The United pilots determined to not fly and declared an emergency over the odor that had sickened flight attendants.
Hearth vehicles that had appeared to have been cleared by the identical controller to cross Runway 4 on the airport have been headed to the United flight because the Air Canada Categorical CRJ-900 jet operated by regional accomplice Jazz Aviation landed with 72 passengers and 4 crew.
