Sen. Dick Durbin, the highest Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, mentioned Monday that Noem will face “robust” questions after “stonewalling” Congress.
“Secretary Noem is the general public face for an abominable anti-immigrant campaign. Her brokers proceed to wreak havoc on our cities and act with unspeakable cruelty in opposition to youngsters, immigrant households, and Americans,” Durbin mentioned. “The American individuals are horrified by what they’re seeing, and Secretary Noem stonewalled Congress for months as a result of she knew her conduct was egregious. She shall be requested robust questions and held accountable for her reckless and lethal enforcement agenda.”

The secretary’s testimony is the primary time she shall be showing earlier than Congress after tensions in Minneapolis and the killing of Good and Pretti.
