BRUSSELS: The European Union’s prime diplomat on Friday (Jan 9) condemned the “heavy-handed” response by Iranian authorities to protests, as Brussels demanded web entry be restored within the nation.
“The Iranian persons are combating for his or her future. By ignoring their rightful calls for, the regime exhibits its true colors,” EU overseas coverage chief Kaja Kallas wrote on X.
“Photos from Tehran reveal a disproportionate and heavy-handed response by the safety forces.”
She mentioned that “any violence towards peaceable demonstrators is unacceptable.”
“Shutting down the internet whereas violently suppressing protests exposes a regime afraid of its personal folks,” Kallas wrote.
