    Trump says US launched strike on ISIS terrorists in Nigeria

    President Donald Trump mentioned in a submit on his social media platform Thursday that he launched a “highly effective and lethal strike” on ISIS terrorists in Nigeria, whom he claimed have been “concentrating on and viciously killing, primarily, harmless Christians.”

    This comes after the president posted a video in early November threatening to enter Nigeria “guns-a-blazing.” Round that point, Protection Secretary Pete Hegseth echoed Trump’s message and mentioned in a post on X that the Division of Protection was “getting ready for motion.”

    “I’ve beforehand warned these Terrorists that if they didn’t cease the slaughtering of Christians, there can be hell to pay, and tonight, there was. The Division of Struggle executed quite a few good strikes, as solely the USA is able to doing,” Trump added within the submit. 

    It’s not but clear the end result of that strike or what the precise goal was. ABC Information has requested the White Home for extra data.

    In a post on X, Hegseth additional mentioned there will probably be “extra to come back” and expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian authorities for its assist and cooperation. 

    “The President was clear final month: the killing of harmless Christians in Nigeria (and elsewhere) should finish. 

    “The @DeptofWar is all the time prepared, so ISIS discovered tonight — on Christmas.”

    Hegseth ended his submit with, “Merry Christmas!”
