    Australian man charged over post allegedly backing Bondi attack

    SYDNEY: An Australian man has been charged and detained after allegedly posting a message on social media backing the mass shooting on Bondi Beach.

    A court docket in Western Australia heard that police discovered six licensed firearms, 4,000 rounds of unsecured ammunition, and antisemitic materials in his residence, native media stated.

    Detectives raided the suspect’s residence on Tuesday (Dec 23), Western Australia Police stated in an announcement.

    He was charged with intent to racially harass, carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon, and failing to correctly retailer a firearm or associated materials.

    The suspect, named in native media as 39-year-old Perth man Martin Thomas Glynn, appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Courtroom on Wednesday.

    In a social media publish, he allegedly expressed “100 per cent help” for the Dec 14 mass capturing at a Jewish competition on Bondi Seashore, which killed 15 individuals, media experiences stated.

    Glynn reportedly advised the court docket he didn’t intend to hurt anybody and was making an attempt to distinction the Bondi assault with the deaths of Palestinians in Gaza.

    He was remanded in custody till his subsequent court docket listening to in February, native media stated.

    Western Australia Police Commissioner Col Blanch stated the person was not believed to be a part of a community.
