To the editor: “The emperor has no garments.”

Just lately, the Environmental Safety Company eliminated any reference to fossil fuels as a supply of worldwide warming from its web site (“EPA eliminates mention of fossil fuels in website on warming’s causes. Scientists call it completely wrong,” Dec. 9). These of us within the “local weather cult” can be glad to know that, based on the EPA underneath President Trump-appointed administrator Lee Zeldin, “pure causes,” not fossil fuels, might be inflicting a “very tiny” quantity of worldwide warming.

In Hans Christian Andersen’s folktale “The Emperor’s New Garments,” folks initially ignored or denied the apparent fact as a result of they had been afraid to talk out in opposition to an emperor who paraded bare. The EPA’s denial embarrasses the U.S. earlier than your complete world.

    ..

To the editor: As former EPA local weather advisor Jeremy Symons says, “Ignoring fossil gasoline air pollution because the driving power behind the local weather modifications now we have seen in our lifetime is like pretending cigarettes don’t trigger lung most cancers.”

The administration is making a harmful transfer in eradicating fossil fuels as a driver of our altering local weather. Placing your head within the sand doesn’t change something and solely breeds confusion. Science tells us the true story: that our burning of fossil fuels pumps greenhouse gases into the ambiance, which causes it to warmth up.

Actually this isn’t the one trigger of worldwide warming, however it’s a main one. Happily, there are individuals who know the reality and are ready to behave on it. They perceive that renewable power is on the market and getting extra economically viable on a regular basis. The transition to photo voltaic, wind, geothermal and hydro energy is already occurring in each purple and blue states.

Let’s depart a greater surroundings for our kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
