A 47-year-old man was struck and killed by a snowplow on the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Worldwide Airport, in keeping with native officers.

The incident was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at a car parking zone close to Terminal 2, in keeping with Jeff Lea, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Airports Fee, which operates the airport.

That car parking zone serves the in-flight catering providers firm LSG Sky Cooks.

Temperatures had been within the higher 20s with mild snow falling within the space on the time of the incident. Over 200 flights out of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul airport had been delayed on Tuesday.

The sufferer’s identification was not instantly launched.

The Minnesota State Patrol helps with the investigation, Lea stated.

Town of Minneapolis on Wednesday declared a snow emergency beginning at 9 p.m., which bans sure avenue parking.

“These guidelines assist plows in clearing the streets so emergency autos and different site visitors can get round,” metropolis officers stated.

ABC Information’ Dan Peck contributed to this report.
