To the editor: Columnist Jonah Goldberg states that the Democrats have a typical aim: Cease President Trump (“Despite infighting, Democrats can still unite around one common goal,” Oct. 21). Not “let’s work on behalf of all of the American individuals.” Not “let’s use negotiation and compromise to advertise our place.” However “let’s do no matter we will to dam Trump and the Republicans.”

Partisan politics have all the time been current. Differing on points and insurance policies is a norm. However to have a single-minded aim towards one individual reveals a complete disregard for our election course of and the need of the individuals.

The South largely had a single aim in 1861: Retain slavery. This place led to the Civil Battle and finally the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. The Democrats have expressed such a robust hatred of Trump that he confronted two assassination attempts final yr, along with the killing of Charlie Kirk. The Democrats’ fixed rhetoric towards Trump has deepened the division in our nation.
