    US officials hold talks in Kabul over Americans detained in Afghanistan

    WASHINGTON: US officers held talks on Saturday (Sep 13) with the authorities in Kabul over People held in Afghanistan, the Taliban administration’s international ministry stated.

    Adam Boehler, the Trump administration’s particular envoy for hostage response, and Zalmay Khalilzad, a former US particular envoy for Afghanistan, met with the Taliban’s Overseas Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.

    “Each events emphasised the continuation of talks on varied present and future points in bilateral relations, significantly concerning residents imprisoned in one another’s nations,” stated a press release from the Afghan international ministry.

    There was no rapid assertion from Washington on the assembly. Khalilzad didn’t instantly reply to a telephone name searching for remark.

    Mahmood Habibi, a naturalized US citizen, is essentially the most high-profile American detainee, in line with Washington. The Taliban denies holding him.

    The Taliban administration, which took energy in 2021 after 20 years of US army intervention in Afghanistan, isn’t recognised by Washington.
