Israel focused Hamas leaders on Tuesday in strikes on the Qatari capital, killing 5 Hamas members and a Qatari safety officer.

The assault drew widespread worldwide condemnation, together with from Gulf monarchies allied with the USA, Israel’s primary backer.

Qatar, which hosts the most important US base within the area, performs a mediation function within the Gaza battle alongside the USA and Egypt.

Analysts say the summit is supposed to ship Israel a transparent sign.

The Israeli strikes had been “seen throughout the Gulf as an unprecedented violation of sovereignty and an assault on diplomacy itself”, Andreas Krieg of King’s Faculty London stated, including the summit signalled that “such aggression cannot be normalised”.

“The purpose is to attract clear purple strains and finish the sense in Israel that it might probably act with impunity,” he stated. “Count on a sharper stance on Palestine and a more durable edge on Israeli actions.”
